The Community for Pittsburgh Ultimate is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that promotes and organizes Ultimate Frisbee for all ages in the Greater Pittsburgh area, including Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Lawrence, Westmoreland, and Washington counties.

US Play Coalition

The US Play Coalition is a partnership that promotes the value of play throughout life. We are an international network of individuals and organizations that recognize play as a valuable and necessary part of a healthy and productive life. We fulfill our mission by educating our national and global community, encouraging and conducting play research, connecting play advocates, and providing avenues of communication about the value of play worldwide. Our membership comes from a cross-section of industries and professions – play researchers, educators, park and recreation professionals, health scientists, architects, landscape architects, designers, planners, business and community leaders, psychologists, physicians, parents and more. Membership is free, and simply requires a declaration of shared commitment to the value of play through our "Get Involved" page. Founded in 2009 at Clemson University, our leadership announced a new home for the US Play Coalition in March 2023 at the Eppley Institute for Parks and Public Lands. Read the announcement here. The Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Relaxation Program(MBSR) was pioneered by Jon Kabat Zinn, PhD at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center's Center for Mindfulness over 40 years ago. Since then over 6000 studies have been published worldwide attesting to the effectiveness of the program. The effects of stress can be felt physically, mentally and emotionally and the studies delve into all of these categories and more.
